Urban Farmgirl's Shop Opening

Yes, Urban Farmgirl's new shop opened a few weeks ago. (Rural St., Rockford, IL)
Opening night was wall to wall people and wall to wall awesomeness!!

A Swedish songbook with a fabulous red cover,

some grubby candy canes,

and an antique tin measuring cup with great patina!

Continued Prayers for Newtown

Soooo What IS the Whatcha-ma-call-it????

Drum roll please........................
     The long awaited answer...................
               The strange wire contraption I posted a few weeks ago was originally a store display for holding brooms. The handles slid nicely into the wire loops at the bottom so their weight and the angle of the handles kept them from falling out. What a cool bit of engineering!!!

Now, for the GREAT part.........THINK of all the wonderful ways to REPURPOSE this gem!!!

(Another drum roll please.....)

*perhaps for hanging herbs to dry,
*hanging pots and pans
*suspending smalls.... such as utensils...crafting tools...jewelry....office supplies....
*wouldn't it look fabulous with some greens and Christmas ornaments!!
*or... forget the bulletin board and use THIS to hang inspiring vintage ephemera and do-dads!

The possibilities are endless!    GOOD NEWS!  I just listed it in my etsy shop!

Thanksgiving's Done and Gone

Yes, fall and Thanksgiving are done and gone for this year but I just have to take a minute
to share these two little buddies that I recently purchased on ebay and etsy.  They're soooo cute! I love their little wire feet! I can't wait to get them out next year and let them meet my existing collection of turkey salt and pepper shakers.

  I hope your Thanksgiving holiday was filled with reminders of God's blessings to you this past year!
